Azure Power announced that it has commissioned 7 MW of solar plant to supply electricity to defence establishments in Maharashtra. The project was completed in collaboration with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), which is the designated nodal agency for implementation for Ministry of Defence and Para Military Forces, the statement further added
While in Karnataka it has commissioned a 130 MW solar power project in Chitradurga district, under Solar Policy 2014-2021. With this commissioning, Azure Power is now the largest operator of solar power plants in Karnataka.
Commenting on the occasion, Inderpreet Wadhwa, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Azure Power said, “With the commissioning of this plant, we now have a 150 MW portfolio and proven track record of operating solar power projects in Karnataka. We have once again demonstrated our strong project development, engineering, and execution capabilities. We are delighted to make a contribution towards the realization of our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s commitment towards clean and green energy, through solar power generation.”
