The first edition of SolarGenX Conference was launched by Genesis Info-Media, publisher of Smart Energy Magazine, on 27th April 2018 in the beautiful city of Nashik. SolarGenX was organised in association with Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association (MASMA). The topic of SolarGenX conference was ‘Benefits of Rooftop Solar for Commercial and Industrial Consumers’. The conference took place at Nashik Engineering Cluster, Ambad MIDC, Nashik. The conference was inaugurated by key dignitaries, Mr. S.S.Sawairam, Ex.Engineer, MSEDCL, Nashik Zone; Mr. Narendra Goliya, Chairman, Rishabh Instruments Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni, President, Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association; Mr. Uday Rakibe, President, Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association, Nashik Chapter and Mr. Prashant Joshi, Director, Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association, Nashik Chapter.
The conference discussed benefits of rooftop solar for commercial and industrial consumers, best practices and sought solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in solar rooftop sector, bringing in renowned speakers, consultants, business experts and key government officials under one grand platform.
At the opening ceremony of SolarGenX, S. S. Sawairam, Ex. Engineer, MSEDCL, Nashik Zone emphasised on the benefits of rooftop solar and how MSEDCL is gearing up to the challenges of net metering. He allayed the common misconception about MSEDCL and assured the industry audience that MSEDCL as an organisation is there to facilitate and help in making the process simple and industry friendly.
Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni, President, MASMA and Mr. Uday Rakibe, President, MASMA, Nashik Chapter turned their attention to the immense potential and opportunities in Solar Rooftop sector. Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni turned his attention to the major challenges faced by small EPC Players and solar manufacturers. He further emphasised the need to get organise and work under the banner of MASMA.
Mr. Narendra Goliya, Chairman, Rishabh Instruments Pvt. Ltd. put forth his views on the Future of Solar. He elaborated on the importance of Made-in-India products and taking India to leadership role in Solar.
SolarGenX also saw insightful and knowledge rich session on ‘Solar Rooftop – Evolving opportunities & challenges’ by Suvendu Lenka- Sales & Business Development, Thermax Limited; ‘Roof top – Walking System’ by Nakul Borade- Director, Swapnil Electricals Pvt. Ltd.; ‘Electron Beam Crosslink Technology: Meets the High Demands of Solar Cables’ by Mahendra Bharaskar- AGM, Business Development, Anand International; ‘Solar Net Metering Policy of Maharashtra Government; Implementation, Experience as a Consumer , Consultant & EPC Player’ by R.K. Nehra, Solar Systems Consultant and ‘How Can I Build Sustainable & Performing Solar Asset’ by Amit Barve- Vice President-Business Development and Marketing, Enerparc Energy Private Limited.
Bringing together manufacturers, EPC and service providers, the conference had over 100 participating. The conference saw participation from representatives of companies like Relyon Solar Pvt.
